Why shards are not always lucky, but definitely bring cake: A chocolate mausoleum for Ms. Marple

0:45, an old building in the middle of Hamburg. Quietly, I put the keys in the various locks of the apartment door and open it gently. This works well despite the small wine spritzer of the two and a half large GinTonic, I register tidily. Quietly I open the door a crack and enter. The darkness envelops me completely at once, only through the small glass of the living room door falls a thin light and paints a diffuse pattern on the floor. I stop and listen. Immediately I feel that something is not right here at all. Then my eyes fall on the cable: Black and irritatingly long, it curled through the hallway in the direction of the kitchen. What are you doing here ?, I whisper the cable. However, the cable makes use of its right to deny the statement and is silent. Very suspicious! The Ms. Marple in me quickly strips off the old pink dressing gown and gets ready for a new case. Immediately I take up the pursuit of the suspect cable.

In the kitchen, there is a curious picture: Something really extraordinary must have happened, because at the end of the long black cable is to my great surprise ... the vacuum cleaner. I pick up the evidence: vacuum cleaner at midnight in the kitchen, all empties off the floor, two rolls of kitchen paper empty, and a suspiciously clean floor. I let the scenery take a moment to look at me and notice that my favorite vase seems to have disappeared in a mysterious way. There are soft screams and battle noises coming to my ear. The case gets more complicated than expected ...

Silently, I sneak back across the hall, careful not to step on any of the screeching floorboards. I silently reach the living room door and put my ear to the wood. The suspicious sounds are clearly coming from this room. My hand lies on the latch ... With a jerk I open the door and stare into the terrified eyes of the man's murderer. On the flickering TV, "DU BIST TOT!" Appears in blood red letters.

Under my stern gaze and overwhelming burden of proof, the suspect immediately discards the Playstation's controller and makes a full confession: he had This evening, my vase was mocked. The murder weapon was a full bottle of vodka, which he had treacherously pushed into the overfull compartment of the refrigerator with some effort. When the door of the icebox was opened later, the bottle fell unstoppably from above on the poor victim and shattered it immediately into 1000 splinters. Cleverly, the murder weapon also destroyed itself, the crystal clear content spread over a large area and created a bewildering chaos, which should cover up all traces of crime.

An almost perfect crime. Only a criminally experienced mind could finally come to grips with it. Because the culprit had made a small, serious mistake: He had a seemingly normal home appliance at the scene back and left the plug in the socket. And too clean kitchen floors are basically suspicious anyway.

Even if the case could be completely cleared up, that does not easily comfort the death of a beloved decoration article. I'll need a little more to fully understand the loss.Chocolate is therefore the drug of choice against lovesickness, a long-term week, bad-weather depression, menstrual cramps and vase loss. The grandiose concentrated taste of dark chocolate immediately makes you happy and maximum comfort feelings. And what sounds like unattainably high patisserie art, is actually amazingly simple: With five ingredients and a loose wrist you can easily get into the chocolate heaven. By the way, I found the foolproof recipe on the homepage of the great food magazine Effilee.

And this is how it works for 4 chocolate painters:

100 g dark chocolate 70% in a small saucepan or gently melt over the water bath. Stir well with 100 ml of mild olive oil and set aside. Beat 2 eggs , 2 egg yolks, 1 pinch of salt and 2 tablespoons raw cane sugar with a whisk by hand for about 1 minute until a light, thick mass arises. Carefully pull the chocolate oil mixture under the egg mass with the whisk. Stir 2 heaped tsp flour under the chocolate mass.

4 small waffles Butter and flour. Spread the chocolate mass on top of the molds and put in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 210 degrees top bottom heat and the chocolate marks approx. 8 minutes bake . Then remove from the oven, let rest for 1 minute and carefully remove the edges with a knife from the molds. The chocolate maladies fall out of the molds and put on plates. Dust with powdered sugar and serve pure, with vanilla ice cream or sorbet. Of course, a glass of champagne is never wrong.

Tips on tips:

  • The filled molds can also be kept in the refrigerator for several hours before they are put into the oven. The whole thing can therefore be prepared in a very practical and stress-free way.
  • If you do not have soufflé dishes, you just take oven-proof bowls or cups - that works just as well.
  • The egg mass should be beaten by hand only with the whisk. An electric hand mixer or a food processor will bring too much air into the mass - the cakes could then burst during baking.
  • If the chocolate cakes stay longer in the oven, they are first added to Soufflé (after approx. 10 - 15 minutes) and later to a piece of cake with a slightly damp core (about 20 minutes).
